Cookies Policy
Effective Date: April 21, 2026 Last Updated: April 21, 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how CarterFive (“CarterFive,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on CarterFive.com (the “Site”). Read this Cookies Policy together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we collect, use, and protect information.
1. What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. Cookies allow a website to recognize your device and to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and certain actions you have taken.
This Policy also covers similar technologies, including:
- Web beacons and pixel tags — tiny images embedded in web pages or emails that signal when a page is loaded or an email is opened;
- Local storage and session storage — browser-based storage mechanisms that work similarly to cookies;
- Software development kits (SDKs) — code embedded in applications that collects information in a manner analogous to cookies.
For simplicity, we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” throughout this Policy.
2. First-Party vs. Third-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are set directly by CarterFive.com. Third-party cookies are set by other domains whose services we use or that display content on the Site (for example, Google and Cloudflare). We do not control third-party cookies; the information they collect is governed by the privacy policies of those third parties.
3. How We Classify the Cookies We Use
We group cookies into four categories based on their purpose:
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site to function. They enable core features such as security, basic navigation, and content delivery. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies through our Site, but you can block them through your browser — though doing so will likely break parts of the Site.
Examples:
- Session cookies that preserve your state while you navigate the Site;
- Security and bot-mitigation cookies set by our content-delivery and security provider (Cloudflare).
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the Site to remember choices you make — such as theme or language preferences — and to provide enhanced, more personalized features. The Site currently uses few or no functional cookies.
3.3 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site — which pages are viewed most, how long visitors stay, how visitors arrived, and where they leave from. We use this information in aggregate to improve the Site’s content and performance. Analytics cookies may be set by third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics.
3.4 Advertising Cookies
These cookies are set by third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense and programmatic ad platforms) to display advertisements on the Site and on other websites. They may be used to build a profile of your interests, to show you advertising relevant to those interests on the Site and elsewhere, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Under certain state privacy laws — including the CCPA — our use of these cookies may be considered “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See our Privacy Policy, Section 8, for your rights.
4. Third Parties That May Set Cookies on the Site
In addition to cookies we set directly, the following third parties may set cookies on your device when you visit the Site:
- Google — for analytics and advertising services such as Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Google Ads. Google’s privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy, and its cookie practices at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
- Cloudflare — for security and content delivery. Cloudflare’s privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Other advertising and measurement partners, from time to time, as the ad networks active on the Site change.
We do not control these third parties’ cookies, and the information they collect is governed by those third parties’ privacy policies.
5. How Long Cookies Remain on Your Device
Cookies fall into two categories based on how long they last:
- Session cookies expire when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or until you delete them. Persistent-cookie lifespans vary from minutes to years depending on the cookie.
6. How to Manage Cookies
6.1 Browser Controls
All major browsers let you view, delete, and control cookies. The specific controls vary by browser:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
- Safari (macOS): support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
- Safari (iOS): support.apple.com/en-us/HT201265
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge
Blocking all cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working. Blocking third-party cookies only is usually safe and reduces advertising and analytics tracking.
6.2 Ad-Industry Opt-Out Tools
You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many participating ad networks through the following industry tools:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) — WebChoices: optout.aboutads.info
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) — Opt-Out: optout.networkadvertising.org
- Mobile apps — DAA AppChoices: youradchoices.com/appchoices
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA): youronlinechoices.eu
Opting out through these tools does not block all advertising — it causes advertising to be less tailored to you.
6.3 Google-Specific Controls
To manage the cookies set by Google services on the Site specifically, you can use:
- Google Ad Settings: adssettings.google.com
- Google Analytics Opt-Out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
6.4 Global Privacy Control (GPC)
CarterFive honors the Global Privacy Control signal sent by compatible browsers and extensions as a valid request to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. For more information about GPC, see globalprivacycontrol.org.
6.5 Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signal. Because no industry standard has been finalized for how websites should respond to DNT signals, the Site does not respond to DNT signals. However, we honor the Global Privacy Control signal described in Section 6.4.
7. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly permit advertising cookies or analytics cookies to be used to collect information from children under 13 on the Site. See our Privacy Policy, Section 7, for additional information about children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. We will post any updated Policy on the Site and update the “Last Updated” date at the top. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
