Wood and Wood
Nature changes daily; evidenced by these two logs that are more than five decades apart. A cross-section of wood from the 1950s (top) typically shows a denser and tighter growth pattern. Trees grew slower due to less intense agriculture and logging practices.
In contrast, a cross-section of wood from today’s forests (bottom) shows wider growth rings and more sapwood due to faster-growing trees and a more homogenous appearance, since younger trees are harvested for lumber.

Have you ever seen a photo of a peacock taken from the back? The flip side to the very colorful and majestic bird is a bland and gray canvas. Their gray side may not be as eye-catching as their vibrant, colorful plumes, but they’re still an essential part of their appearance.
These feathers contrast the bright colors at the front and help balance their overall look. It’s always essential to have a healthy balance, rather than too much or too little.

Separated at Birth?
It’s widely believed that the average person has roughly seven doppelgangers and it’s highly uncommon for anyone’s face to be entirely unique. That being said, when Niamh Geaney turned to social media to find her doppelganger, she probably didn’t expect such a precise result.
